For all my dog pawrents out there, if you're anything like me, you're always worried about keeping your pup cool in these hot summer months. My fur baby, Luna, is a larger than life black lab; so I am always worried about her in the summer sun. Her love of the outdoors can easily lead to her overheating, so having lots of water and a cold treat to give her is key. These tasty frozen strawberry banana treats are the perfect healthy, refreshing surprise for your pup.
I promise this is the easiest recipe you will find for your furry friend. All you need is plain yogurt, frozen strawberries, a banana and skim milk. Start by adding the vanilla yogurt to the base of your silicone molds. I like to pip the yogurt in to the paw prints, but this isn't necessary, they just look pretty when you remove them from the molds.
Place the molds with yogurt in to your freezer and let them set for one hour. While yogurt is setting you can prepare your banana strawberry filling. Add the frozen strawberries, banana and skim milk in to a blender and combine until smooth. Store the mixture in the fridge until your molds with the yogurt have fully set.
Once your molds with the yogurt have set, remove them from the freezer and top them with your strawberry banana mixture. Place the molds back in to the fridge for 4 hours or until solid.
After 4 hours remove these frozen delights from the molds and spoil your pup! Be sure to store these treats in an air tight container in your freezer for up to 3 weeks, but I promise you they won't last that long.
